Tool
Redact confidential data in a PDF
Use the redaction tool to hide confidential snippets of text or images on a document page before you send or print it.
Add a redaction box, drag it into place, resize it, and change its color if you like. The boxes are baked into the final PDF and cover the selected areas over the original content. Use them to black out text in a PDF, cover a passport number or a signature, and strip personal data from a PDF document for good.
How to use redaction
Upload a document (PDF, DOCX, image) into the editor
Click the “Redaction” button on the toolbar
Drag the redaction box over the area you want and resize it
Download the finished PDF — the redacted areas stay securely hidden
What you can redact
- •passport, Social Security, and tax ID numbers
- •a signature or facsimile stamp
- •an address, phone number, or email
- •bank account details
- •any other confidential text or images
Who it's for
Every day, thousands of people forward PDFs with personal data in plain sight — without a second thought about the fallout. Redaction fixes it in seconds: cover what shouldn't be seen, download, and send.
Security
Everything runs locally in your browser. Files are never uploaded to a server or stored anywhere. Once you close the page, your data is gone.
